Rare Antique 18th Century meissen porcelain Potpourri model by J. This is truly a unique find, most of these in circulation are from aroundThe 1850s to 1900. But this one is fromThe introduction period Of the 18th century. The history of the porcelain potpourri or extraordinarily popular with upper class and royalty during this time because only they could afford such a luxury such as a potpourri pot. This piece is absolutely delicate, there is so much detail and protruding design intended to catch the eyes of guests as well as functionality.

Traditionally hes replaced above the chimney which would allow the circulating heat to increase the aromatic smells to circulate through the entire home. Main body is still intact no breaks, however all of the chips to the leaves flowers and fruit as well as the handles are broken and chipped.

One of the cherubs last one wing and arm, it is chipped at the base cracks age cracks on the body as well as inside age cracks. Please note that these cracks are surface cracks and do not go through the entire porcelain.

These are very common for the age of the item. So as read above, it is clear that this piece is not meant condition nor perfect. Please keep in mind that this piece is definitely qualifying as a museum rare quality collection. Still very nice for display or a good investment to repair this piece! This piece measures about 11.25 inches high with the lid and about 6 inches wide at the widest points.
