Antique 1766 MEISSEN Finest Porcelain Cache Pot w. For your consideration is a very RARE and EARLY small cache pot, possibly intended as a spice urn or small planter, made of the finest white porcelain. Outstanding quality and very Naturalistic feel, as can be expected from the early Meissen output! Face masks on either side, insect motifs with blue acanthus leaves and gold trim. Signed on the underside with the Crossed Swords mark in underglaze blue. This particular mark and the way it was situated, dates it to c. Meissen, Germany, from the period PRIOR to Count Camillo Marcolini, Prime Minister of Saxony and director of the factory during the years 1774 to 1814.
