A figurine made by Meissen in the 19th century. It is of a lady with a basket filled with flowers in front of her standing on a nice base. I have owned this version from the 18th century in polychrome but here we have a 19th century version painted in blue only which is actually quite nice. These pieces often sat on top of Meissen blue Onion tiered plate serving dishes hence the odd hole underneath. The figure is very well modeled and hand painted very nicely. The lady is wearing a nice skirt and hat and the basket is held over her shoulder with a wide strap. The figurine is in great condition with two chips to her hat, some minor damage to the flowers which is to be expected, a teeny chip to her sleeve and one of the handles of the basket is missing. She displays very well and none of these minor issues are obvious when on display. The piece is marked underneath with the under glaze blue crossed swords mark as shown.
The figure is 6.25 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 2.625 inches deep. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces.
